Your hands can do more than a Google search!

Indeed! Take a moment to observe your hands... they have the potential to do incredible things beyond just swiping on your phone or engaging in other activities. Your hands have the ability to RESCUE A LIFE! By receiving appropriate training, you can utilize your hands to provide an individual with an additional opportunity to live (be it a second, third, or even fourth chance, depending on their luck).
So, what is CPR?
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, or CPR, involves compressing a person's heart muscle between their spine and sternum. This life-saving technique can be performed with or without rescue breathing to maintain oxygenated blood flow until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrive. Proper training is essential for a higher success rate and to avoid causing harm while attempting to help. It is important to note that for every minute without CPR, a person's chances of survival decrease by 7-10%. In 2023, there were 356,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests, yet only 40.2% received CPR from bystanders. This means that a staggering 212,888 individuals did not receive assistance. To put this into perspective, that is equivalent to 598 people every day. To visualize, this number fills 2.6 Death Valley stadiums at Clemson University.
Being able to identify the signs and symptoms and understanding the correct technique can be the deciding factor between life and death. I can assure you that simply watching old episodes of Chicago Hope won't equip you with the necessary skills. Real-life situations are often very different from what is portrayed in movies and on TV.
